Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 4, 2025
The short version
Your data is 100% private. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone. Your conversations, farm data, and account details belong to you — period.
Who we are
OpenHectare is operated by Verdus Labs, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account info — your name, email address, and authentication credentials when you sign up.
- Conversations — the questions you ask and the answers we generate, stored so you can revisit them.
- Basic analytics — anonymous, aggregated usage metrics (page views, feature usage) to improve the product. These are never tied to your identity.
What we never do
- Sell or rent your data to third parties.
- Use your conversations to train AI models.
- Show you targeted ads based on your data.
- Share your information with data brokers.
How we protect your data
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices and regularly review our infrastructure. Access to user data is restricted to essential personnel only.
Third-party services
We use a limited number of trusted providers to run OpenHectare (hosting, authentication, AI inference). These providers process data on our behalf under strict agreements and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
Your rights
You can at any time:
- Request a copy of all data we hold about you.
- Ask us to delete your account and all associated data.
- Export your conversation history.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@openhectare.org.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
Children's privacy
OpenHectare is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll notify you via email or an in-app notice before the changes take effect.
