Other farmers cannot see your farm

Your chats, location, crops, and files stay on your account. We do not sell them or show them to other growers.

We do keep your chats so you can open them later. The companies that help us run the app see a question when they need to answer it. If something breaks, we can look at an account to fix it.

Who we are

Verdus Labs, Inc. runs OpenHectare on the web, iOS, and Android.

What we keep

• Your name and email
• Your region, crops, and farm size
• Your questions and answers

If you attach a photo or file, we use it for that answer and do not keep the file.

Who else sees something

• Supabase stores your login and chats.
• Google or Apple, if you sign in that way.
• OpenRouter and the AI models see your question so they can answer. We ask them not to keep it or train on it.
• Exa gets a search query from your question so we can find sources. They may keep that query.
• Open-Meteo gets your region, as coordinates, so we can show today's forecast. Not your name or chats.
• PostHog gets anonymous counts, like that someone sent a message. Not your name, email, or chat. We do not record your screen.
• Meta and Google ads run on the homepage and login page only. Not after you sign in.

Most of these companies are in the United States. Open-Meteo is in Switzerland.

What we do not do

• Sell your data
• Show it to other farmers
• Train our own models on your chats
• Put ads inside the signed-in app

Deleting your data

You can delete a chat anytime. To delete the whole account, email us from openhectare.org/delete-account. Once it is gone, it is gone.
